INTERNATIONAL AIDS CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL: Reflecting the Past, Preparing for our Future - May 20, 2018 at the Cebu City Hall

The SUPACA youth advocates attend the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial at the Cebu City Hall, listening to testimonies of people living with HIV and the challenges of dealing with stigma and discrimination, access to healthcare, treatment, care and support.  This activity is done in remembrance of those we've lost to AIDS and point to future movements to help improve awareness, to enhance understanding and compassion.  What people living with HIV want is RESPECT, and teaching the youth about HIV 101, the mode of transmission and how to prevent HIV infection will make an impact on how society treats people with HIV.

SUPACA youth advocates confidently recite how HIV infection can be prevented:

A - abstinence, wait for your one true love!
B - be faithful, be mutually faithful!
C - check your status, get tested!
D - don't do drugs, spread the love - not the virus!
E - educate yourself and others!

"Ipakatap ang kaamguhan kabahin sa HIV/AIDS.  Atong supuon ang HIV/AIDS."
